đźš— Don't Aim for Perfection
- It's fine if you hesitate or say the wrong thing – you don't need to restart the recording
- Looms are meant to be casual, not formal!
- Almost all looms should be done in one take. Don't overthink it!
🔍 State Your Purpose
- If video is informational – say it’s an update
- If you’re using Loom to articulate complex thoughts, say that
- If you’re looking for feedback or giving feedback, say that
⏳ Respect People's Time
- Aim for a specific length (under 2mins for most videos)
- 5-10min videos for complex walkthroughs or thoughtful considerations is okay
🦸‍♀️ Super Speed
👩‍🏫 Set Expectations
- Let the other person know in a message (if it’s an email, Slack or Threads message) how long the Loom is so that they know what to expect when they go to watch it
đź‘‹ Give Kudos
- As a viewer, leave emoji’s – it’s fun for the creator and let’s other viewers know which parts resonated with them
- Leave transactional comments, like “This section is great!"
