What is the Levels Glucose and Lifestyle Data Patterns in the General Population Study?
The Levels Glucose and Lifestyle Data Patterns in the General Population Study will serve as the first and largest dataset of its kind, and will contribute to an early understanding of glucose metrics in individuals viewing and interacting with real-time glucose data as a wellness tool.
Our study has two objectives
- To develop and analyze a reference data set describing the glycemic patterns (mean, variability, distribution, postprandial response, etc.) in the general population using real-time, unblinded, continuous glucose monitoring.
- To determine how glycemia (mean, variability, distribution, biological rhythms, postprandial response, etc.) differs across general population subgroups (e.g., demographic, anthropometric, and/or behavioral/lifestyle habits) and is correlated to recorded data.
Why is this study being done and why should I participate?
- This study aims to contribute to research and development and the advancement of knowledge surrounding glucose levels in healthy adults and how glucose levels vary based on demographic information (age, gender, weight, race) and lifestyle characteristics (nutrition, activity, sleep, etc.), which could lead to groundbreaking discoveries to improve people’s health and wellness
- There is a strong but not fully explored connection between short- and long-term glucose fluctuations, and a person’s general health and well-being.
How does this study work?
You can participate in this study with your smartphone, the Levels app, the CGM manufacturer app and the CGM sensor. The study will ask you to:
- Provide your consent to collect data from your Levels app, such as your CGM data, Apple Health or Google Fit data, and other data.
- Complete occasional short surveys that will ask you about your demographics and medical history, as well as subjective questions about your mood and energy level.
- Record information about your food, exercise, and other lifestyle activities.
This is a non-interventional, single-arm observational study.

Study Enrollment
Enrollment in the study will be available to all US-based Levels members as an option provided they meet the eligibility criteria. Currently, Levels membership is available to all US residents for an annual fee and entitles members to an array of products and services, including use of our mobile application.
Members who participate in the study will be eligible to purchase CGMs on either a one-time or recurring basis. These devices are lifespan-limited, disposable, and can be used only in the context of the study. Members who do not want to participate in the study as part of their Levels experience are free to opt out of the study.
