In July 2022, @Sam Corcos approached me (@Sonja) to discuss ways to add leverage for Levels leaders by increasing their delegations with Athena. Our leadership team was feeling particularly bandwidth constrained, and increasing usage of Athena was one of the tools we had in our toolbox.
One of my primary goals as Casey’s Chief of Staff is to scale time and impact, and in my first few months a large aspect of that was building systems to get Athena in the loop for our work together. We now have over 100+ delegations for our shared work.
Based on our success together, Sam asked me to lead to coach and support Levels leaders and team members in developing systems thinking muscles and increasing the applications of systems thinking through more Athena delegations.
The priority was increasing leadership team leverage - especially for those with under 5 ongoing delegations. Our theory was that once someone gets to ~10 delegations, they see and understand the value, and are in the habit of delegating. Our hypothesis was that individual 1:1 coaching would be effective in helping leaders get more invested in delegation.
After a few scoping conversations and alignment around a draft project doc [PROJECT DOC] Delegation Expansion and Systems-Thinking Skill-Building, the project was kicked off with this thread by @Sam Corcos, the DRI database was updated, and off to the races I went!
The success metrics that were determined in the beginning of the project were:
